Calderon v. Public Partnerships, LLC Proposed Settlement

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT

EASTERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK

Case No. 1:25-cv-02320 (FB)(LKE)

July 1, 2026 Update: The United States District Court has preliminarily approved the proposed class action settlement in this case, and appointed Atticus Administration as the Settlement Administrator. Notices will be sent to members of the Settlement Class by email and text message in the coming weeks, and will be posted to this website. These notices will provide more details about the settlement. Notices will also be available in several languages. No action is needed by members of the Settlement Class at this time.

Plaintiffs Philip Calderon, Farshad Pinchasi, Allison Fields, and Dana Folgar, their lawyers at The Legal Aid Society and Katz Banks Kumin LLP, and Public Partnerships LLC have reached a proposed settlement. The settlement, if approved by the Court, would resolve the class action lawsuit Calderon et al. v. Public Partnerships, LLC. On June 23, 2026, Plaintiffs formally asked the Court to approve the proposed settlement.

The proposed settlement would cover all current and former personal assistants who were paid through Public Partnerships as the statewide fiscal intermediary for services performed as part of CDPAP in New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and/or Westchester County (collectively, “downstate personal assistants”) at any time between March 1, 2025 and April 30, 2026.

The settlement must still be approved by the Court. Public Partnerships will not oppose the motion for preliminary approval. If the Court grants preliminary approval, all Settlement Class Members will be sent notice of the settlement, and a final approval hearing will be scheduled by the Court.

More details can be found in the parties’ joint press release, available here. Updates will be posted to this website as the settlement approval process moves forward.
